We are a conduit, not a storage unit.

Definition of conduit. 1 : a natural or artificial channel through which something (such as a fluid) is conveyed a conduit for rainwater. 2 : a pipe, tube, or tile for protecting electric wires or cables. ( Webster dictionary)

Self storage is an industry in which storage space also known as "storage units" is rented to tenants, usually on a short-term basis (often month-to-month).
Storage device definition, a device used to store digital data or information, as a hard disk or CD. ( Collins English and tech terms computer dictionary)
‎
I have been pondering this for some time. The thought of how we tend to store things up. Rather it be, Moments from our past, trophies we won from events or keep sakes from our family, pictures, furniture, clothes, here comes some big ones; money, you know retirement, savings, Vacations, cars, homes, boats that kind of stuff.

But, what about the things that people can’t see. Like the events, or situations and choices that have been made or happened in our lives?  How about the gifts and talents that we have?
Or maybe the things we think were a mistake, but were really the greatest gifts to be given of all.

The word says ; Mathew 6:19-33 MSG A Life of God-Worship19-21 “Don’t hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or—worse!—stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it’s safe from moth and rust and burglars. It’s obvious, isn’t it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being.
22-23 “Your eyes are windows into your body. If you open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar. If you pull the blinds on your windows, what a dark life you will have!
24 “You can’t worship two gods at once. Loving one god, you’ll end up hating the other. Adoration of one feeds contempt for the other. You can’t worship God and Money both.
25-26 “If you decide for God, living a life of God-worship, it follows that you don’t fuss about what’s on the table at mealtimes or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.
27-29 “Has anyone by fussing in front of the mirror ever gotten taller by so much as an inch? All this time and money wasted on fashion—do you think it makes that much difference? Instead of looking at the fashions, walk out into the fields and look at the wildflowers. They never primp or shop, but have you ever seen color and design quite like it? The ten best-dressed men and women in the country look shabby alongside them.
30-33 “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

I must confess, for many years I lived in a cycle of getting. I professed as a Christian, looked like one , tithed, gave and really had a heart for God. But in the deepest parts of my heart I was still worried about What If?

What if I can’t take care of myself? What if I don’t have insurance? What if I don’t Have an emergency fund? What If I don’t have the ability to depend on myself?
What if someone else lets me down? What if others don’t approve of me? What if they really find out how broken I really am?

Well, ‘What if ‘happened. And it was the Best thing that could have ever happened in my life.

I have come to realize the more I hold on the less I have. There is no room for me to hold anything else. That storage unit becomes so full , nothing else fits. And when I give from a space of self sufficient (which is not real) it returns to me empty and void) .

When I give from a space of God Sufficient, He supplys all my needs. Notice “ needs” .
It returns to me , pressed down shaken together and overflowing. I can’t contain it. So I can give more away – the conduit.. It really is a beautiful act of Love in Motion.

So, when I received the gift of healing through the modality of Christian Yoga, I do not do it to make money, I do it to help others through trauma and with their health and share the word and Glorify Him  not me. The return is an eternal Glorious one, that can not be described. Its not mine, its His.
And at the same time, I am being healed from Glory to Glory and the JOY is overwhelming to be able to Serve others and Him.

I remember a day when a woman came and gave me a check for $50 many years ago. And said the Lord laid it on her heart. I was blown away. And I thought to myself, Wow! I want to be able to do that one day..

How? Why? You may wonder. Well, there was a time when I was not who I am today, and I had no relationship with HIM, I spent many years battling addictions, and abuse and lies from the enemy. I struggled with my identity in Him and accepting LOVE. But when He ever so gently walked me through a layer at a time from glory to glory and revealed how he gave, so I can give.  Can I get a glory dance.

Please hear my heart, I don’t give to get. I give from a space of great gratitude and Love, and He is the one who blesses and honors it all.

What do you have to Give? Is it your time? Is it a smile? Is it kindness in your words? Is it a yoga class for some ladies that just need a little time for themselves and maybe can’t get to the Gym?

Is it some clothes that you really don’t wear, you could sell them, but there is someone who needs an outfit to get a job?

Do you have the ability to put gas in someone’s car to get them to work, so they can feed their family?

Can you cook a meal for a sick family?

Can you Babysit for the couple who needs time alone to save their Marriage?

Can you commit to pray for another’s needs?

What do you Have that you can be a conduit  for the Kingdom Of God?  It matters. You Matter.
Don’t be a storage unit- Be a conduit, And let the Flow of Holy Spirit move through you.

I have come to a place that I realized that the very things I used to cover up, and numb out with-  from - the traumatic or harmful and debilitating experiences that I had as a child and young adult were the things I had to recover from.
So, ultimately my recovery story became a piece of my trauma healing. and my trauma healing a piece of my recovery. And Jesus has been a piece of it all.
That is the beautiful tapestry he has woven and continues too.

Cheryl is a Redeemed daughter of her Abba , father . Bought by the blood of Jesus, and filled with the Holy Spirit. To accomplish every good work he set out for her to do. She is a Mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend and a blogger, teacher, presenter and author of her story in the works .
She presses on towards the prize - Regardless of the the arrows the enemy has aimed , and some even penetrated , to leave her deep scars. those scars are a beautiful reminder of her healing, Not her Wounds.
Facing rejection, abandonment, physical abuse , and complex trauma from before she was 5, through her childhood into young adulthood. He is the one who sustains her every day.. Yes and Amen...
Using others, many ministries, ( celebrate recovery)( Christian  and TSY yoga)  physicians,  counseling and the WORD. which is Life .
God has masterfully used these things, to weave a tapestry of  Romans 8:28 into every fiber of her life, from beginning to end.. 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.
